Technology Innovation Management Program
From Talent1st
[edit] Background
Carleton University's Technology Innovation Management Program (TIM) offers a unique Masters degree for experienced engineering professionals who are interested in developing their leadership skills in the management of innovation, technology strategy, new product development, and commercialization. The TIM program, formerly known as Telecommunications Technology Management, offers both a Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) and a Master of Engineering (M. Eng.). The M.A.Sc. is a thesis-based program with small classes and intensive student-supervisor interaction. The M.Eng, in comparison, is an Internet-based program in which students focus on practical, industry-related research; all courses and interaction with professors take place through the Internet. These programs will train engineers and computer scientists to become effective managers of the engineering processes that deliver innovative technology based systems, products and services. The students will focus on using technology to grow companies, particularly companies operating in open environments. In its eleventh year of operation, the program is currently accepting applications for the Fall 2008 term.
